about

Yousei Suzuki is a multi instrumentalist from Japan. This is his 4th release to date. The Scene From A Frame is his first cassette release with hand screen-printed bradpaks in edition of 100.

Scissor Tail Records first made a name for itself last year with Bruce Langhorne's "The Hired Hand" which was originally a soundtrack for Peter Fonda's directorial debut of the same name. It established a precedent for unique and intimate recordings and that's exactly what "The Scene From a Frame," the new cassette by Japanese musician Yousei Suzuki, exists as. Suzuki presents 12 acoustic pieces, each live and captured in a single take. Naturally, flawed notes and missteps in timing take place, and in fact there's more of those on "The Scene From a Frame" than you would expect because Suzuki's approach freely incorporates broken zithers and wrongly strung guitars. Suzuki aptly illustrates that's all part of the charm and seduction of live, spontaneous music. – Ryan Potts, Experimedia
